At a glance

The customization process in seven steps

The same sequence applies whether you are placing a first sample order or scheduling a repeat production run.

  • Customer demand communication & confirmation (style, compression level, fabric, color, packaging and certification requirements)
  • Project evaluation, quotation, confirm MOQ and sample cost
  • Sample production & compression testing, customer confirmation & sample sealing
  • Finalize technical documents, labels and IFU files
  • Raw material procurement, formal knitting & semi-finished product sampling inspection
  • Finishing, logo printing,(Digital printing / heat transfer printing / knitting / embroidery and other techniques) full quality inspection and packaging
  • Pre-shipment inspection, delivery arrangement and file retention.

Detailed process

The five stages in detail

Five stages take your product from commercial confirmation through to after-sales traceability.

01
Business Stage

Demand Confirmation (Business Stage)

Customers put forward product requirements including style, compression level, application, size standard and target market certification. Core parameters, packaging and printing requirements, and commercial terms such as MOQ, unit price, lead time, sample fee, mold fee and NDA are confirmed.

  • Customers put forward product requirements, including style (calf / thigh-high / pantyhose / arm sleeve), compression level (Level 1 / Level 2 / Level 3), application (varicose veins, post-operation anti-thrombosis, lymphedema), size standard and target market certification (CE / FDA / NMPA).
  • Confirm core parameters: fabric composition, thickness, color (Pantone color code), elastic band width, toe & heel design, open-toe / closed-toe style.
  • Confirm packaging & printing requirements: custom logo, label content (compression value, warning statement, batch number, IFU), individual bag / color box and carton packing standard.
  • Confirm commercial terms: MOQ, unit price, lead time, sample fee, mold fee, NDA and intellectual property rights.
02
Sample Development

Sample Development Stage

The factory evaluates the feasibility of the compression curve, confirms knitting equipment and formulates the production process. A preliminary sample confirms style, fabric and colour; a testing sample undergoes laboratory compression testing with multi-point pressure detection on ankle, calf and thigh. The customer confirms appearance, size and hand feel, and both parties seal the confirmed sample as the mass-production standard.

  • Solution evaluation: The factory evaluates the feasibility of compression curve, confirms knitting equipment and formulates formal production process.
  • Sample making:
  • Preliminary sample: Confirm style, fabric and color without compression calibration.
  • Testing sample: Mass-prototype knitting and laboratory compression testing (multi-point pressure detection on ankle, calf and thigh) to adjust yarn tension and meet standard gradient compression.
  • Sample confirmation: Customers confirm product appearance, size and hand feel; provide official compression test report simultaneously.
  • Seal sample: Both parties seal the confirmed sample as the official standard for mass production.
03
Key for Export

Document & Compliance Preparation (Key for Export)

Technical documents are sorted, including the BOM list, production process sheet and compression test report. Labels and IFU are finalised in the required languages according to target market regulations. Certification documents such as CE certification, MDR registration and biocompatibility testing are completed if required.

  • Technical documents sorting: BOM list, production process sheet, compression test report.
  • Finalize labels and IFU (Instruction For Use) in required languages according to target market regulations.
  • Complete certification documents if required: CE certification, MDR registration, biocompatibility test and other qualification files.
04
Mass Production

Mass Production Stage

Qualified yarn, elastic accessories and packaging materials are purchased and inspected on receipt. Circular knitting follows the sealed sample process with strict yarn-tension control. Finishing covers sewing, toe closing, shaping, pre-shrinking and colour matching. Semi-finished inspection, logo processing, final inspection and packaging follow before shipment.

  • Raw material preparation: Purchase qualified yarn, elastic accessories and packaging materials, complete incoming quality inspection.
  • Knitting: Professional circular knitting machine production, strictly control yarn tension according to sealed sample process to ensure standard gradient compression.
  • Finishing process: Sewing, toe closing, shaping, pre-shrinking and color matching.
  • Semi-finished product inspection: Random inspection of size and compression value, isolate unqualified products.
  • Logo processing: Woven label sewing and custom logo printing.
  • Final inspection: Full inspection of appearance defects, size accuracy and label information.
  • Packaging: Independent packaging with instruction manual, color box packing and carton shipment sorting.
05

Factory capability

The equipment and checks behind each stage

The production, testing and quality steps that carry your order from sample to shipment.

Knitting capacity

More than 200 computer hosiery machines are used in production, together with German medical hosiery machines and Italy's LONATI hosiery machines. The machine is selected according to the ordered sock type.

Toe linking options

Toe sewing is available in three types: machine linked toe, fake hand linked and hand linked toe.

Shaping & finishing

Socks are placed on a shaping board and sent through a heated shaping machine to achieve softness, flatness and stable form.

Compression testing

A professional SAG machine tests compression level to help confirm the target gradient, with typical ranges such as 15-20 mmHg, 20-30 mmHg and 30-40 mmHg.

Quality control

The quality team double-checks sock length, packaging details, accessories and size, and defective socks are replaced.

Packaging & shipping

Packaging is customized to the buyer's budget, brand identity and target customer. Goods ship by sea, air or express, with DDP door-to-door service available.

Machine selection and finishing options are confirmed for each order.

Commercial terms

MOQ, sample, lead-time and payment terms

Typical starting points. Final MOQ, price, sample fee, mold fee, lead time and payment terms are confirmed for your project.

Lead time 3-5 working days for items in stock and 25-30 days for customized items such as custom size, color and material. Timelines depend on quantity and shipping method.
Payment & customization Payment can be arranged by T/T, PayPal, Western Union or Credit Card. OEM and ODM services cover customized logos via jacquard, embroidery, printed and reflected techniques, using vector AI artwork.

Questions

OEM/ODM questions buyers ask first

What can be customized in an OEM/ODM order?

Buyers can confirm style, compression level, fabric composition, thickness, colour, elastic band width, toe and heel design, and open-toe or closed-toe construction. Logo method, label content, individual bag, colour box and carton packing are confirmed at the same time.

What information is confirmed before production begins?

Stage 1 confirms product requirements, core technical parameters, packaging and printing, and commercial terms. The signed or sealed sample from Stage 2 then becomes the official standard for mass production.

How are samples and compression testing handled?

A preliminary sample confirms style, fabric and colour without compression calibration. A testing sample is then produced and laboratory tested with multi-point pressure detection on the ankle, calf and thigh, adjusting yarn tension to meet the standard gradient. The factory uses a professional SAG machine to test compression level.

What compliance documents can be prepared?

Stage 3 covers BOM lists, production process sheets and compression test reports, and finalises labels and IFU in the required languages. Certification documents such as CE certification, MDR registration and biocompatibility testing are completed if required by the target market.

What happens before shipment?

Bulk goods are re-tested for compression and a final inspection report is issued before shipment. Customs declaration and logistics are arranged, and production samples plus production records are reserved for after-sales traceability.

What are the MOQ, sample and lead-time terms?

There is no MOQ, and samples are offered free of charge for testing. Lead time is given as 3-5 working days for stock items and 25-30 days for customized items, depending on quantity and shipping method. Always reconfirm these terms for your specific program.
